Due to the drought conditions that continue across our state the City of Rushville finds it necessary to take some precautionary measures to insure that our water supply will continue to adequately provide enough water for the future needs of its customers. At the request of the Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) to reduce our water use by 10-15%, the City of Rushville has already taken steps at the water treatment plant to reach those numbers. The City of Rushville is asking for its customers to take water conservation measures very serious at this time. These measures are strictly voluntary, but could change to a ban in the future on unnecessary water use for everything but the everyday necessities of daily living. The voluntary water conservation request is for the watering of lawns, washing of cars or any other unnecessary use of water. The City of Rushville would like to thank you in advance for your cooperation in this matter. Should you have any questions or concerns please call the City Utilities at 765-932-4124.
